A student mentioned his enjoyment of the mid-20th century film “The Fountainhead” to his master who recalled, “There was once an architect who wished to build a building no one dared to build, a construct that put all before it to shame. Creative, audacious, new. It inverted all practices that ever were. The architect was unaware that some things do not follow perfect beauty, due to the limitations of the real world.”
The master sat back contentedly, having finished his story. But the student leaned in, asking him what happened. Obligingly, he replies:
“The building collapsed.”
